Pastor A. B. Watkins

In a dream of a Lady saying "Geneva, Geneva!" in earnest plea, God sent our pastor. Our church has been blessed by his well-studied sermons and fiery style. He has a way of connecting the listener to the context of the scripture, in vivid detail, candor, and humor.

His vision and passion has launched us from 'the church of yesterday to the church of today.'

His first sermon here the principles of reaping and sowing, he summarized what could be a complex sermon to some basic points, setting ablaze a revival in the hearts of the handful of people he led at the time....to give just a little more time, talent, and offering. Those principles: you reap WHAT you sow, you reap MORE than you sow, and You reap LATTER than you sow.

With that challenge of leadership, and God's blessing we have a newly remodeled facility, a drive through covered entryway, foyer and new bathrooms. Our church attendance has grown significantly, and we have far more people than the four saints, in whom God entrusted his services.

If we could say one thing about our Pastor He loves people, he is not content for anyone to be lost. His diligence in outreach, prayer walks, house calls, hospital visits and individual bible studies have contributed to the growth of FPC Geneva. Annointed and direct in his preaching style, we have seen many strong holds broken.

He often says, "If you turn from God, you will find a cross standing in your way, but in front of that cross you will find this preacher, with a sign 'STOP, TURN BACK,' and you will have to run over and bypass the cross to miss heaven."

Pastor and sister Kendra will celebrate 21 years of marriage this November 2024. Married in Bakersfield, CA by former Western District Superintendent, Rev. Ronnie Mullings, they have continued a life of faith and family. They have four children Levi, Ethan, Sadie, and Gideon.

He continually reminds us that the greatest commandment is Deuteronomy 6:4-5, but the application of that is found in his most favorite scripture of all;  Matthew 6:33 " But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you."

 Secretary/ Treasurer Elaine Hoffman

Sister Hoffman and her adopted son was the first family to come to Geneva after Pastor's arrival. She has been an integral part of the church ever since. The number of desserts, swept floors, and the number of times she has vacuumed only heaven knows....I know this, you can hear the children ask "what is sister Elaine bringing for dessert?" or "we need to help sister Elaine."

We wish we had a dozen Sister Elaine's, but there is only one! She has been a great help to pastor ensuring that finances, banking, and securing loans have been a breeze. We thank her for her service to FPC Geneva!
